The Assay Offices of the UK announce Platinum Jubilee commemorative mark

In 2022, Her Majesty The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, seventy years of service, having acceded to the throne in 1952. To celebrate the occasion, the body which oversees UK hallmarking, the British Hallmarking Council, has sanctioned a commemorative component mark. The mark depicts an orb, and can be applied to precious metal, alongside a hallmark, by any one of the four UK Assay Offices.

Commemorative mark. A new commemorative mark has been designed to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Historically, commemorative marks have been added to the regular hallmark to signify a special event. More about this can be found at The Assay Offices website.

Precious metals

Precious metals are Silver, Gold, Platinum and Palladium.

Selcraft’s preferred technique is to use die-stamping, which provides the ultimate result for distortion free fine detailing and product integrity. These products, such as 3 dimensional items not suited to die-stamping, are cast but still hallmarked to guarantee the precious metal quality as well as invested with the same high manufacturing values of any Selcraft piece.

Products

Selcraft UK have honed their skills over the last 47 years to become a specialist in working with precious metals across a diverse range of bespoke products.

Selcraft’s work with precious metals has been recognised on an international level, with a commission for special medals produced in hallmarked sterling silver – the Steven Krulis Champion of Humanity Award – for the Kigali Genocide Memorial in Rwanda.
